While my 4 year old son thinks he’s way too old for a “baby” seat, we often have problems keeping him sitting still at the dinner table if he’s kneeling or reaching. This seat fits the bill perfectly – it’s comfortable, a great height for an older toddler or preschooler that doesn’t need to be belted in, it’s easy to wipe or rinse clean, and it doesn’t offend his sense of being a “big kid” for eating or other projects at the kitchen table. Plus he loved being able to choose from an assortment of colors.

We love this seat! I was nervous about putting my 2.5 year old in a seat that didn’t attach to the chair (since our dining room chairs have no arms). But after a few weeks, it didn’t slide around anymore. So, we’ve had no problems. No problems, that is, until the other night when we went to move it from the DR chair to the living room because he wanted to sit in it to watch TV. When I peeled it off the DR chair, it took some of the finish with it! Not good. Had it not been for that small(ish) problem, I would have given this seat a perfect rating!

Strips finish off of chair!!!, February 15, 2010

My husband and I purchased a new dining set the day our Cooshee booster arrived. We were so excited because we didn’t want our son’s old, hard plastic booster seat to scratch our new chairs. The seat was working great, our son was able to climb up and down without it slipping, and it was much more comfortable for him. However, when I attempted to remove the booster to bring it out for dinner with us, the seat was STUCK to the chair. When I pulled it off, the finish from my brand new chair had stuck to the booster. I am devastated; it is the first new furniture set I have ever purchased in my life, and the chair is completely ruined. The white writing from the bottom of the Cooshee even stuck to the chair. I emailed (TWICE) BabysmartUSA and attached pictures for their review well over a month ago and received no response back. This $40 booster ended up costing us almost $300. Don’t buy it unless you have old chairs that you’re not particularly attached to!
